Firm's Commitment to Diversity in Practice is Strong

Twin Cities Diversity in Practice held its first annual meeting on April 5, 2007 in Minneapolis. Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P. is a founding member of the organization that is now made up of 19 law firms and 11 corporate legal departments. The organization is dedicated to attracting, recruiting, advancing and retaining attorneys of color in the Twin Cities legal community. "Twin Cities Diversity in Practice exemplifies our firm's long standing commitment to diversity," states Michael Ciresi, chairman of the executive board. "We are very proud of Tom Kayser and Todd Jones who have been instrumental in getting this organization off the ground."
Tom Kayser was presented with a Platinum Volunteer Award at the annual meeting for his dedication and contributions to Diversity in Practice. "Tom is a true participant in the organization," states Seema Shah, executive director of Twin Cities Diversity in Practice.
Both Tom Kayser and Todd Jones were critical in starting the organization. They were two of four early organizers. "The organization would not exist without their commitment. Our continued success since our formation is due in large part to both Tom and Todd," Seema says.
Todd Jones serves on the executive committee of the board for Twin Cities Diversity in Practice and is very active in the organization. "We are making strides to attracting and retaining attorneys of color to the Minneapolis area," states Todd. Todd also delivered the welcoming remarks at the annual meeting.
"It has been an honor and a long-time goal of mine to have something like this in-place that is dedicated to maximizing the diversity of our legal profession in Minneapolis." Tom states. "It is beneficial and rewarding to work with people of many backgrounds."
