Okay, so who are we?
We are a national law firm that delivers results for our clients. We are a firm of roughly 250 attorneys, headquartered in Minneapolis, with offices in Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, and Naples (FL).
While we have a vibrant transactional practice, a significant portion of our work is in complex litigation. We handle "bet the company" cases and other litigation in courts across the United States.
We actually try cases. We've had many results representing clients in patent-infringement, antitrust, other business litigation, insurance, personal injury, medical malpractice, and mass tort cases. From the moment we become involved in a matter, we prepare it as though our client's case will be decided by a jury - a perspective that shapes all our strategic and tactical decisions.
We bring a different perspective than most law firms because we represent businesses and individuals as both plaintiffs and defendants. We believe we're better plaintiffs because we're defendants and that we're better defendants because we're plaintiffs.
We historically have had a significant portion of our revenue based on alternative fee arrangements, primarily through contingency-fee cases.
We offer training - and a lot of it - through our
Exceptional Advocate training program. Each associate is also paired with both an associate and partner mentor who are available to provide guidance and professional feedback.
Our firm is committed to pro bono and to diversity initiatives as evidenced by dedicated committees and a professional manager who coordinate the activities in these areas. Our attorneys are encouraged to do pro bono work as it supports our core value that everyone should have access to the justice system, regardless of their economic or social status. And, we believe that the diverse backgrounds of all our firm members make us a smart law firm. We also strongly support programs that create a significant impact on our communities, and our green initiative focuses on converting to wind-generated electricity and using recycled paper.
