Firm's Partner Appointed Chairman of the Minnesota Commission on Judicial Selection

MINNEAPOLIS (March 24, 2008) - Governor Tim Pawlenty has appointed Ronald J. Schutz, a partner in the Minneapolis office of Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P., as the new chairman of the Minnesota Commission on Judicial Selection.
Prior to this appointment, Schutz was an at-large member. The Commission on Judicial Selection is comprised of 49 members, including attorneys and non-attorneys appointed by the Governor and the Supreme Court. The Commission is responsible for evaluating and recommending candidates for district court judgeships to the Governor.
Schutz has been practicing law for 27 years. He chairs the Intellectual Property Litigation and Licensing Group and is a member of the firm's Executive Board. He is an alumnus of the University of Minnesota School of Law. Schutz is a 1978 graduate of Marquette University College of Engineering.
