Firm Raises $57,161 for Special Olympics Massachusetts

The Boston office of the national law firm, Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P. held its fifth annual golf tournament to benefit Special Olympics Massachusetts on October 9, 2007.  The event once again took place at the Myopia Hunt Club in South Hamilton, MA.

The firm recently presented a check to Special Olympics Massachusetts totaling $57,161.22.  When combined with the more than $150,000 raised in the previous four years, the firm has raised over $200,000, allowing Special Olympics Massachusetts to continue to provide its athletes with quality programs and resources.

According to their web site, the mission of Special Olympics Massachusetts (SOMA) is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of well-coached Olympic-type sports for individuals with intellectual disabilities by providing them with continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, prepare for entry into school and community programs, express courage, experience joy, and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics Athletes, and the community.

For the fifth year in a row, Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P. has hosted the very prestigious golf tournament at Myopia Hunt Club located in South Hamilton Massachusetts.  According to research, the club is listed by the USGA as being one of the first 100 clubs established in the country.  Also noteworthy, the 1898, 1901, 1905, and 1908 U.S. opens were hosted at Myopia Hunt Club.
